Shilshole Bay Marina Project, Port of Seattle
SEATTLE, WA
SoundEarth staff wrote the SEPA Environmental Checklist for the proposed project. The Port of Seattle proposed to update and improve most of the landside facilities at Shilshole Bay Marina, including demolishing some existing buildings, constructing new buildings, improving the parking lot, creating pedestrian plazas, and improving access paths. In addition, plans were developed to renovate the central plaza, change curb cuts and number of parking spaces, relocate garbage and recycling facilities, upgrade utilities, reduce an existing outdoor storage facility, improve signage, and implement a new landscaping concept involving retention of some of the existing landscaping and provision of new landscaped areas. Key issues that were addressed included plants and animals, land use, aesthetics, water, and noise.
