This position will be involved in projects ranging from project and technical task management and be a technical resource to project managers and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare and provide senior review of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects with various levels of complexity and size

Prepare regulatory reports, including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, cleanup action reports, sample and analysis plans, quality control/assurance plans, and health and safety plans

Assist with the preparation of documents in support of cost recovery, cost allocation, and litigation support projects

Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules

Develop work plans and manage staff responsible for completion of the field work

Interface with clients and regulators

Participate in business development opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or equivalent experience in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Natural Science

5 – 7 years of consulting experience

Understanding of environmental regulations, including state and federal (e.g., MTCA, CERCLA, RCRA)

Experience preparing Phase I ESAs that are compliant with ASTM 1527-21

Experience with project management tasks

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

OSHA HAZWOPER certification or the ability to obtain certification in one month

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and regular access to a vehicle with the ability to travel to job sites and offices as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science degree

Experience with remediation well and network design, fate and transport analysis, and vapor intrusion assessments

Experience with aquifer testing and analysis

Experience with groundwater infiltration studies and construction dewatering

Understanding of monitored natural attenuation

Candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communications skills combined with demonstrated leadership ability to independently manage projects in a fast-paced environment, maintain client relationships, and provide support/mentoring of staff through effective training and delegation.

Principal Certified Industrial Hygienist

SoundEarth Strategies, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with at least 10 years of experience as a practicing CIH in industrial hygiene consulting.  This individual will manage the Industrial Hygiene Group and oversee several small and large private and public sector projects. The CIH should demonstrate strong technical and business development skills and a constructive attitude toward managing and mentoring staff.

The position will be based out of SoundEarth’s Seattle office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform exposure assessment projects for chemical (gases, vapors, aerosols, dust, etc.), biological, and physical hazards. Experience performing ergonomic assessments would be a plus.
  • Develop scope, scheduling, and budget IH projects for both public and private sector clients.
  • Managing numerous small and large projects.
  • Supervise broad range of projects and project teams.
  • Develop marketing strategies with senior management team.
  • Mentoring of young professionals and project managers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Staff Geologist

SoundEarth Strategies Inc., an employee-owned, environmental consulting firm headquartered
in Seattle, WA is seeking a Field Geologist to join our team of Environmental Scientists,
Geologists, and Engineers. We provide responsive, client-oriented results that anticipate the
needs and expectations of our clients in the areas of remediation, due diligence, stormwater
and air quality compliance services, hazardous material surveys, greenhouse gas reporting, and
sustainability services.


This position will assist Project Managers with a variety of tasks such as

  • Field sampling of soil, groundwater, and/or air;
  • Monitoring and documentation of environmental drilling;
  • Well installation operations;
  • Underground storage tank closure and assessment;
  • Vapor Intrusion sampling;
  • Data analysis and preparation of written technical reports and supporting documentation;
  • Observation of remedial excavation and historical property use research;

Responsibilities will include field work activities, documentation, basic data analysis/data
organization, and technical report preparation. Field work is performed in a range of weather
conditions and qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
to travel to project sites as needed. A current Hazardous Waste 40 Hour Health and Safety
certificate is required or would need to be obtained as a condition of employment.

Preferred Skills

Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in a Geology, Hydrogeology, or Earth
Sciences discipline, 2-3+ years prior environmental consulting experience, along with excellent
written and verbal communication capabilities, and strong organizational skills. Mechanical
aptitude is a plus.

Entry Level Industrial Hygienist/Project Assistant

SoundEarth Strategies subsidiary EHS-International, Inc. (EHSI) seeks to hire and train an Entry-Level Industrial Hygienists/Project Assistant. Our goal for this position is to find a candidate to be trained on how to manage projects and perform field investigations including industrial hygiene and environmental assessments, studies involving regulatory research and compliance audits, asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, site characterizations, environmental sampling of air, soil, sediments and water for organic and inorganic contaminants.

The candidate will assist with field and consulting functions including EPA/AHERA building inspection and gain experience learning AHERA Project Design, supervision of abatement contractors, collection of air samples, conducting indoor air quality investigations, compose reports, and hazardous material abatement drawings and specifications in accordance with job instructions for assigned projects and in accordance with EHSI project management procedures.

The candidate must be a United States citizen. A college degree in environmental related field is preferred or equivalent related work experience, computer skills in Microsoft Office, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
